What do you like about the color black? Do you like the way it looks and how classy it is? Are you familiar with some of the bad things about black? What I am trying to get at is there are some great things about black granite counter tops and some not so great things. The first thing you need to know is that the only bad thing about black granite counter tops is that you can see handprints and smudges very easily, other than that, everything else is a good thing.
The first good thing you need to know about shiny black granite counter tops is that they give the room they are in a focal point. Have you ever seen a pure white room with 1 dark shiny object in it? If you have then you know that the 1 dark shiny object will make everybody turn towards that 1 thing every time they walk into the room and that is a good thing because a counter top should be a conversation starter.

Another great thing about black granite counter tops is that they are very easy to clean. If you have every wiped down your counters before and then wonder if you missed a spot then you will never have to worry about that again. With black you will see every spot that you wiped and therefore you won’t have to worry about them being clean or not, you will see how clean they are every time you wipe them down. The only thing I would caution you on is to never use really harsh chemicals to clean your counter tops because this can take the protective layer off of them and cause the shine to wear.

One other thing that many people love about black granite counter tops is that you can put them on almost any color or cabinet and use every kind of backsplash out there. If you are not a designer and you don’t have an eye for design then you will not have to worry about what you pick because there is no wrong answer as far as black is concerned. Trust me, black is always a hit color.
